Please read these terms before purchasing or enrolling. By purchasing any course, digital product, or using this website, you agree to these terms in full.

1. Who we are

This website and all associated courses, digital products, and content are owned and operated by Kitty Cotten, an individual creator and educator based in Minnesota. References to "Kitty Cotten," "we," "us," or "our" throughout these terms refer to Kitty Cotten personally and this business.

2. Educational content — not professional advice

All content on this website and within any course or digital product — including but not limited to videos, worksheets, guides, live sessions, and written materials — is provided for educational and informational purposes only.

Kitty Cotten is not a licensed interior designer, contractor, architect, structural engineer, or home improvement professional. Nothing in any course, product, or communication constitutes professional interior design services, construction advice, structural advice, or any other licensed professional service.

The decorating ideas, suggestions, tips, and guidance shared through this website and its courses are based on personal experience and general decorating principles. They are shared as educational inspiration, not as professional recommendations specific to your home, its structure, its systems, or your personal circumstances.

In plain terms: What Kitty teaches is based on her own experience as a home decorator and creative. It is educational content — like watching a YouTube video or reading a magazine — not a professional design consultation or service.

3. Home improvement — assumption of risk and release of liability

Any changes you make to your home, including but not limited to furniture arrangement, paint application, curtain installation, art hanging, lighting changes, furniture purchases, decor changes, or any other modifications, are made entirely at your own risk and at your own discretion.

Kitty Cotten is not liable for:

  • Any damage to your home, walls, floors, ceilings, furniture, or property resulting from implementing ideas or suggestions from any course, product, or content
  • Any personal injury to yourself or others arising from home modifications or decorating activities
  • The cost of repairs, replacement of damaged items, or restoration of your home
  • Any structural damage, including damage related to hanging art, mounting shelves, or moving furniture
  • Issues arising from paint selection, color choices, or paint application
  • Dissatisfaction with the aesthetic outcome of any decorating changes you make
  • Purchases you make based on product recommendations, whether through affiliated links or general suggestions
  • Any loss in home value, rental income, or other financial loss related to decorating decisions
  • Any damage caused by product purchases made through links or recommendations

You acknowledge that all decorating decisions and any resulting actions are your own independent choices. Before making any structural changes, electrical changes, or modifications that require professional expertise, you agree to consult the appropriate licensed professional.

In plain terms: If you hang a shelf and it falls, paint a wall and don't love the color, or rearrange your furniture and scratch the floor — that is not on Kitty. You are an adult making independent decisions about your own home. The course teaches you how to think about decorating. What you do with that information is entirely your responsibility.

4. No guarantee of results

Kitty Cotten makes no guarantees, representations, or warranties — expressed or implied — that following any course content, advice, or suggestion will result in a specific outcome, aesthetic result, or level of satisfaction with your space.

Decorating results vary based on your existing home, budget, skill level, the condition of your walls and floors, the furniture you own, and many other factors outside our control. Results shown in course materials, social media, or marketing are illustrative examples and are not a guarantee of what you will achieve.

5. Purchase terms and refund policy

Courses: All course purchases are subject to the following refund policy: if you complete the pre-work, review Module 1, and genuinely feel the course is not the right fit for you, you may request a full refund within 7 days of the course start date. Refund requests must be submitted to [email protected]. After 7 days from the course start date, all sales are final.

Digital products: Due to the instant-download nature of digital products (PDFs, guides, worksheets, art prints), all sales are final and non-refundable once the file has been accessed or downloaded.

We reserve the right to refuse a refund if we determine that the refund policy is being abused.

6. Course access and delivery

Upon purchase, you will receive access to course materials as described at the time of purchase. Course content is delivered through our course platform (currently Thinkific). Access duration is as specified at the point of purchase.

Live sessions (office hours) are scheduled in advance and recorded. If you cannot attend a live session, the recording will be made available within 24 hours. Live sessions are provided on a best-efforts basis and may be rescheduled in the event of an emergency. We are not liable for technical difficulties on your end (internet connection, device issues, etc.) that prevent your attendance.

We reserve the right to modify course content, add materials, or update information at any time to improve the learning experience.

7. Intellectual property

All course content, digital products, videos, worksheets, art prints, written materials, photography, and branding associated with Kitty Cotten are protected by copyright and remain the intellectual property of Kitty Cotten.

Your purchase grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to access and use the content for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not:

  • Share, resell, distribute, or reproduce course content or digital products in any form
  • Share your login credentials with others

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Kitty Cotten's total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of this website, any course, or any digital product shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific product or course giving rise to the claim.

In no event shall Kitty Cotten be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to damage to property, loss of income, loss of data, or personal injury, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
